used to farm them with my perma sin with a death blossom build, after the nerf used burning speed, which turned out to be a faster and more efficient run. Drops a decent amount of golds, good to stock up on salvage kits for iron and wooden planks and glittering dust. Lots of mesmer tomes as well as glacial stones.

yeah it is a good amout but right now im only picking up golds and glacial stones so i might be a while and could i see that burning speed build pls cause sliver armor is slow...

how do you deal with scatter in hard mode? (using burning speed build)

then how will you explain the fact that they did scatter when I went to try the burning speed build on them? (kudos for the idea I didnt know vaettirs burn)

(note: hard mode, and I even tried doing it on low hp)

and for some reason they never scatter when Im using the E/Me build
(pure AoE)

The scatter question in hm generally has been covered many times.
Its sometimes not the "AOE" that causes the scatter but when foes hit low hp and they run off - main cause can be aoe ( non degen/disease but dmg ) like sliver/soj etc but disease/degen can cause same effect.
NM can be bad enough but HM scatter is a pain at times specially when tryin to chase a mob and the casters wont stay still untill all melee are dead and u cant catch the melee bloke as hes avoiding you - in a way its comical.

When I used to farm these, I used Tenai's Crystals/Crystal Wave/acrance echo/ glyph of swiftness/ obsidian flesh/stoneflesh aura/mantra of earth/storm djinns

Each run ( 60 foes ) takes about 5 minutes in HM, and I remember getting 2-5 golds each time

like all hot farm spots they just burn out. i remember when i frst started this it was money! seriously i think if you knuckled down and went hard you could make 50k a day easy in golds dyes and mesmer tomes. (dont forget those oh so special map pieces.) anyways it seems to have gone the way of every other hot spot. just like your favorite fishing spot, you fish long enough the fish's go away! ive done it quite a bit recently and average 1 or 2 golds per in and out. just an FYI i use the 2 tenais + sliver and they dont seem to scatter all that much. in a big mob a bunch will float out a little then wand them quick they come back in.

I dont think the spot has changed in drops, all farming spots are sporadic to your characters. The bar i used was an E/Me

Crystal Wave
Sliver Armor
Light of Deldrimor/Arcane Echo/Run Skill

Typically i used Light of Deldrimor as energy is never a problem and it isnt too bad armor ignoring damage.

Ty!, i was going to post same thing and same url to my thread. Seems that there's no reason to post it again.

E/Me build was posted, commented and/or updated on my thread and sin build was posted on Perma-sf Sliver thread by Rezzdog.

If you ever wanna do it burning style you even got it on one of my post there. Just MoR + LF does the job (even at Fire magic level 4, it works)

You can eeeeven do it with a ranger + bonder(or hero) to get perma obsiflesh (with QZ), also posted there with template code...

no more discussion needed :S

Its not needed to be a genius to discover that he uses:

- Deadly Paradox + Glyph of Swiftness
- Shadow Form
- Burning speed + frigid armor (burn em, dont burn yourself)
- [optional skills:] glyph of lesser energy, lava font, fire attunement

....

Ok ok, more details, i can assure you that is about 15 Shadow arts and 9 water magic, 9 fire magic...
Vaettir AI is "uneffective", so they dont flee (ok, almost) even with lava font.

If people used the search option.....

Use the A/E burning build on vaettirs and you will see that they scatter on hard mode, I just want TechnoSword to explain what trick he uses to counter it
so I can see if its really faster then my E/Me build

plus its not needed to be a genius to discover that its 12 fire magic and 6 water

about drop rates (and I really farmed this place a lot)

golds : 0-5 per run [2-4 on average, 5 happened very rarely]

note: I use Light of Deldrimor inseat of Sliver Armor

golds worth mentioning (skins) :

Ebonhand Aegis
Fuchsia Staff
Fiery Bladed Axe
Mammoth Blade
(more when I remember)

I do this run quite often in HM.

After nerf I too tried the burning speed build but found they scattered at about 50% health. 3 always stayed around but made the run over 25mins (I think) for all 60. It was taking me just 9-12mins with sliver
I tried the less than 100 health - they still scattered.
I tried both caster weapons and swords - they still scattered.
I tried radiation field instead of burning speed - they still scatter

In NM the "less than 100" trick stops scattering but nothing seems to in HM.

So I to am very interested in Technoswords method of stopping scattering

As for the op gathering stats, Ive found this run to vary wildly.
0-6 golds (normaly 2-3)
1-11 Glacial stones (normally 4-5)

But I like the run cause the golds vary greatly, unlike Raptors :-/

I farm this E/Me all the time in HM, once you have rounded up all of one side in a group go [sliver armor], [arcane echo] [crystal wave] [crystal wave] [teinai's crystals] wait for recharge [arcane echo][sliver armor] [crystal wave] [teinai's crystals]. All dead and if you throw the aoe's boom,boom,boom with no delay you aren't hitting multiple foes for 5 sec or more and there is no scatter.

swap out skills to get skills that slow down ur enemy like grasping earth or ward against foes , there are some other one but i forget

The trick is to make sure you can't be targeted by their spells, i.e., either use Glyph of Swiftness+Obsidian Flesh or one of the permanent Shadow Form variants. It's pretty much an AI glitch.
